About the Bitter Root Land Trust
Water, Wildlife and Working Lands for all Generations

420 Acre Lost Horse Creek Ranch Conservation Easement by Keith Fialcowitz
Founded in 1996 by a group of Bitterroot Valley residents, the Bitter Root Land Trust is a community supported non-profit organization, governed by a local volunteer board of directors. The Bitter Root Land Trust fulfills its mission of land conservation by assisting landowners with a variety of tools through which they can achieve their goals for the preservation and stewardship of their land. Since 1996, the Bitter Root Land Trust has successfully conserved over 2,400 acres of some of the most pristine wildlife habitats, working ranches, and clean water. We work to preserve the landscapes that make the Bitterroot such an amazing place to live, work, and play!
